As I long time fan of “R&B” breezy I found it hard to enjoy his dance/club records, however they were still hits. “Don’t Think They Know” shows Chris Brown certainly has not forgotten the R&B sound that made us all instant fans. After hearing word artists were planning on remaking Aaliyah songs or collaborating with her using sample from her hits, many were skeptical. Mr CBE let the work speak for itself, firmly putting any doubts or non-believers to rest.
This track speaks on the connection between an artist and his/her supporters and family, it is truly a great vibe. Undoubtedly many people would rather more music such as this make it to radio stations worldwide. It is not enough for music to make you dance, rather music that teaches you something and gives you an appreciation for it. Aaliyah’s musical influence is timeless, Chris Brown did an excellent job to pay homage to the sensational musician.
For our readers who have been deprived of a soulful and well arranged duet, look no further. A vocal exhibition of harmonies, riffs and runs which is complimented by the impeccable delivery from these two musicians. The chemistry in this cover ignites a soulful flame of passion, representing a male and female perspective making it a delight for everyone. Mirrors has been cover by many musicians online, few have done the song justice by showcasing originality. This version is among the best.
Elli Ingram, the powerhouse vocalist that brought us a refreshing “Poetic Justice” cover. Original music that is well written and delivered with so much emotion is beginning to receive the recognition it deserves. Elli’s raspy vocals are reminiscent of a young Adele carrying a certain vulnerability that makes each lyric undeniably believable. Its not enough to be able to sing well, one most command the art of music and create their own style. Originality paves they way for longevity in any career, perfect your craft.
As you know here at One Love CMzTV, we love R&B, passionately. With that said, it is wonderful to hear such a display from up-coming musicians. “Deal With It”, a story of the trials that come with a relationship, the demands of love and how it affects two people. Each time Courtney and Zion collaborate a special performance soon follows, giving us hope in the future of soulful music.
If you remember our last Travis Garland post, we showed you the official music video for “Blue Electric Roses”. In this post we touched on the possiblity of seeing the visuals for “Abby Lee or Homewrecker”, we finally have it !!! In this intimate acoustic performance we see great vocal control and range work hand in hand with top class riffs and runs to create our idea of a strong performance. Some musicians sound great on radio but fail to impress during live performances, Travis Garland is not on of them. He can really sing !!!! This young man has a voice that’s not to be reckoned with, keep the visuals coming sir !!!
A young lady who is no stranger to the performing arts and a familar face to television screen, Keke Palmer. Multi-talented people are becoming increasing abundant in any industry, however the uniqueness of certain talent makes people stand out amongst the rest. Keke Palmer is a lady of many talents but holds music closest to her heart. This acoustic performance of Alicia Key’s classic hit shows passion with each lyric she sings and a deep love for the craft resting with in each note.
The voice is now merely described as a gift, the vocal delivery is what shows real skill, these two musician’s have impeccable delivery. A combination of Tori Kelly’s voice and talented songwriting has sealed her as one to watch in 2013 and the years to come. Her vibrant riffs and runs during her acoustics performances rest comfortably in their own league highlighting her own unique style.
There are many artists who are able sing but lack an understanding of how to actually “sing”. A good song comes from someone who can sing, however “music” comes from a musician with passion and soul laying at the core of his/her music. Travis Garland is a musician who knows how to make real music, using his strong range and subtly smooth tones to serenade his growing fan base. A musician who we at One Love CMzTV describe as a soulful delight for listeners with a sweet tooth for talent.
A collaboration between these two would not only be a musical exhibition of talent, rather an example of the difference between a vocalist and a stylist. Vocalists sing using whatever they hear on the radio or television as a blueprint to become a musician. A stylist in musical terms would be a musician with their own unique style distinguishing them from the masses, a musician such as Tori Kelly or Travis Garland.
You have all showed eager interest in our recent Hayley Cassidy post, here’s a treat for you courtesy of Blue Reign Media Group. An intimate performance of a track from her free album “Stripped”. “Why Did’nt You Call” shows that element of vulnerably we touched on in the “EP Of The Week” article. In this performance we see passion in Hayley’s delivery and professionalism ability to sing in way which communicates directly to her audience. After listening to her free album and seeing some performances its seems the anticipation for some visuals to support her music is imminent.
A soulful performance from the Simpson Bros on One Love CMzTV. This original song showcases some talented songwriting and vocal ability from the lead man Nate Musiq. For up-coming musicians it is difficult to receive the exposure they deserve, for this reason covering songs by the greats helps create the buzz they need to get noticed. On to many occasions original music has been over looked, “Steady” is a great example of original music that deserves your attention.
